Marseillan Marseillan has a wide selection of good places to eat (many specialising in sea food) and drink. The weekly market is on Tuesday and in the summer there are frequent festivals and an “artisanale” market on Thursday or Friday evening. The town also has two supermarkets and several cash points. Stroll around to the harbour and dine at one of the many restaurants. Noilly Pratt  Marseillan is the home of Noilly Pratt the original dry French Vermouth. Swimming There is a sandy beach that stretches several miles from Marseillan-Plage to Sète. Sète It is a town on the Mediterranean coast. It sports several harbours. Fishing, yachting and trade, and the city itself straddles a network of canals on one side, and hugs the Mont Saint Clair on the other. Pezenas A lovely old medieval town. It is known as a Ville de Métier d’Art for its widely varied family of artisans and is famous for its antique trade. The Canal du Midi Built in the 1670s to link the Atlantic (Bordeaux) with the Med., a superb engineering and physical achievement by J-P Riquet and many labourers. Loupian This is the site of a Roman villa complex on the edge of the Etang de Thau where vistors can spend a fascinating couple of hours at least. The mosaics are terrific.
